Libreville, 25 June 2026 ( Gabonese Republic) - The Economic Community of Central African States (ECCAS) Commission is strengthening its relations with the Republic of Chad. His Excellency Ambassador Fadoul Kittir Zakaria, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Chad to the Gabonese Republic and the Republic of Equatorial Guinea, officially presented his credentials to the Chairman of the ECCAS Commission, His Excellency Ambassador Dr Ezekiel Nibigira.
A highly symbolic diplomatic ceremony
The ceremony was organized in accordance with diplomatic practice and brought together at the headquarters of the ECCAS Commission in Libreville, the President of the Commission, the Vice-President, Commissioners, Directors, Heads of Services, Experts and several senior Commission officials.
The issuance of credentials marks the official beginning of the diplomatic mission of the Ambassador of Chad to the ECCAS Commission. It is an act that reflects mutual trust between the Republic of Chad and the Community institution. The ceremony also recognized the official accreditation of the Chadian diplomat as Permanent Representative to ECCAS. As such, he became a de facto member of the Permanent Representatives Committee (COREP).
A renewed commitment to regional integration
During the ceremony, the Chairman of the Commission received the credentials from Ambassador Fadoul Kittir Zakaria, carrying a message of friendship and cooperation from the Chadian authorities. The diplomat now officially represents his country to the ECCAS Commission.
Ambassador Fadoul Kittir Zakaria had already presented his credentials to the President of the Gabonese Republic on 24 June 2026. He is also Ambassador of Chad to the Republic of Equatorial Guinea, with residence in Malabo.
The ceremony continued with the presentation of the official ECCAS Pin to the Ambassador, followed by an official photo session of the Commission authorities and participants. It concluded with a hearing granted by the Chairman of the Commission to the new Permanent Representative.
