*Libreville, 2 July 2026 ( Gabonese Republic) -* The Head of State-Regional Major of the Multinational Force of Central Africa (FOMAC), General Major Audace Nduwumunsi received at the headquarters of the Regional Major State in Libreville, His Excellency Can İncesu, Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey, accredited to the Gabonese Republic and the Economic Community of Central African States (ECCAS).

In opening the meeting, General Major Audace Nduwumunsi welcomed the Turkish diplomat on behalf of all the staff of the Regional Major State.

He welcomed the continued interest of the Republic of Turkey in the issues of peace, security and cooperation in Central Africa, stressing that this visit demonstrated the common will to consolidate the partnership between the two sides.

The Head of State-Regional Major recalled that FOMAC is one of the main instruments for implementing the Peace and Security Architecture of Central Africa. Its mission is to contribute to crisis prevention, management and resolution, peacekeeping and strengthening regional stability, in accordance with the decisions of ECCAS Heads of State and Government.

*Exploring new opportunities for cooperation*

The discussions focused on the possibilities of supporting capacity-building, as well as the identification of areas of common interest for sustainable cooperation.

This visit is an important step in deepening the Community's relations with the Republic of Turkey, a partner committed to peace, security and stability in Central Africa.

*Cooperation for regional peace and security*

The visit also allowed the officials of the Regional Major State to present the missions, organization and strategic priorities of the FOMAC. The presentation provided the Turkish delegation with a better understanding of the role of this regional force in conflict prevention and in responding to the security challenges facing Central Africa.

Through this meeting, ECCAS reaffirms its commitment to develop strategic partnerships with its international partners to strengthen regional peace and security mechanisms. Cooperation with the Republic of Turkey is fully in line with this vision, based on dialogue, sharing of experience and strengthening institutional capacities for stability and sustainable development in Central Africa.
