Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Arab Republic of Egypt now accredited to ECCAS

Libreville, Gabonese Republic, 17 March 2026– Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Arab Republic of Egypt to the Gabonese Republic, Her Excellency Riham HUSSEIN AMMAR, presented this morning the letters accrediting the Economic Community of Central African States (ECCAS) to the President of the Commission, His Excellency the Ambassador Dr. Ezekiel Nibigira, during a ceremony at ECCAS headquarters.
The event was enhanced by the presence of the Vice-President of the ECCAS Commission, all Commissioners present in Libreville, the Acting Secretary-General, staff with terms of office, the Chief of Staff of the President and the Advisers to the Chairman of the Commission, Directors, Heads of Services and Experts of the ECCAS Commission.
Four highlights marked this event:
- Presentation of accreditation letters;
- The wearing of ECCAS pine;
- One-to-one exchanges between the Chairman of the ECCAS Commission and his host;
- The photo shoot to immortalize the event.
Following the diplomatic ritual of receiving the letters of accreditation and bringing the pins of ECCAS to its host, the Chairman of the ECCAS Commission exchanged with the Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt during a hearing. The two diplomats referred to the need to strengthen cooperation between the Arab Republic of Egypt and ECCAS, including bilateral relations with ECCAS member States in various areas, including peace and security issues. The discussions also focused on topical regional and continental issues as well as on the priority issues that the Chairman of the ECCAS Commission has been addressing since he took office.
The Egyptian diplomat took up her duties as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Arab Republic of Egypt to the Gabonese Republic on 25 December 2024.
Born July 31, 1975 in Giza in Egypt, Her Excellency Riham HUSSEIN AMMAR graduated from the Institute for Diplomatic Studies of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Arab Republic of Egypt in Cairo and the Mediterranean Academy for Diplomatic Studies at the University of Malta Valette. A career diplomat, she was Assistant Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs in charge of protocol before being accredited to the Gabonese Republic.
Nantie from a long professional diplomatic experience, Her Excellency Madame Riham HUSSEIN AMMAR is now accredited to ECCAS, becoming his country's first permanent representative to that regional organization. It committed itself to deepening and increasing cooperation between the Arab Republic of Egypt and ECCAS in line with the ambitions of both sides.
