Bangui, 26 December 2025 (Central African Republic) - Within the framework of the Electoral Observation Mission of the Economic Community of Central African States (ECCAS) deployed in the Central African Republic in the context of the presidential, legislative, regional and municipal elections of 28 December 2025, the ECCAS delegation presented its civilities to Her Excellency Mrs. Sylvie BaïPO TEMONMinister of Foreign Affairs of the Central African Republic, Thursday, 26 December 2025.
The ECCAS delegation was led by the Head of Mission, His Excellency Mr. Gabriel Arcanjo FERREIRA DA COSTAformer Prime Minister of the Democratic Republic of São Tomé and Príncipe and member of the pool of the ECCAS Committee of Wise Persons, assisted by General Marcel MAPANGOU MOUSSADJIGeneral Supervisor of the technical observation team and members of the technical team of the Mission.
The hearing allowed for constructive discussions around the general context of the electoral process in the Central African Republic, the preparations under way for the elections of 28 December 2025, and the mandate of ECCAS for election observation.
On this occasion, the Minister of Foreign Affairs recalled the challenges and challenges of the electoral process in the CAR, while reaffirming the readiness of the Central African authorities to facilitate the work of accredited observation missions. For his part, the Head of Mission expressed the gratitude of ECCAS for welcoming and accompanying the Central African authorities, while reiterating the Organization's commitment to contribute to strengthening democracy, peace and stability in the subregion.
